# Recorded ability audio

The following recordings were published under CC0 on their primary OpenGameArt
pages. These sources were verified when downloaded. The derivative edits in
`src/main/resources/assets/zambesitotems/sounds/ability` are also CC0-1.0.

`recorded-audio-manifest.json` identifies source SHA-256 hashes, each edit's
recorded sections/layers, output hashes, duration, decoded peak/RMS, DC, spectral
centroid and loop boundary step. It explicitly records whether listening QA has
occurred. `tools/build_recorded_audio.py` reproduces the edits with numpy and
soundfile, then `tools/build_audio_catalog.py` writes the game event aliases.

Processing consists of mono downmixing, section selection, filtering/EQ, recorded
layer combinations, amplitude envelopes, headroom and circular loop crossfades.
No Minecraft audio files are copied or redistributed. References to native
Minecraft sounds remain event references resolved by the player's installation.

# User-selected audio sources

The project maintainer confirmed permission to edit and redistribute these sounds within the published mod on 2026-10-19. These sources are not represented as CC0.

* Jurassic Sound, Fire whoosh sound effects: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xIs--biAgC4
  Heat Wave 46 to 50 seconds; Flame Torrent 22 to 24; Blast Launch 61 to 64; Consume Flame 2 to 4; Inferno Release 6 to 9; Fireball held charge 21 to 23.
* Water wave: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vWcjpN_b5w
  Tsunami Cage wave 1 to 5 seconds, fitted to the travelling wave duration.
* Freeze: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZqxKNEmlBCI
  Tsunami Cage freezing phase 2 to 5 seconds.

The original audio-only sources and minimal attribution metadata are in user142. patch142-audio-manifest.json records source hashes, clip ranges, processed assets and decoded measurements. Loop sections use circular crossfades; single gestures have smooth edges. tools/build_patch142_audio.py reproduces the edits after tools/build_recorded_audio.py; finish with tools/build_audio_catalog.py. The build needs numpy, soundfile and imageio-ffmpeg. No audio processing libraries are required by Minecraft.

Kenney Impact Sounds, CC0: https://kenney.nl/assets/impact-sounds
Dry stone and soil movement edits for 1.4.3.

1.4.4 material extensions use edited portions of Minecraft's native grindstone and deepslate recordings to match Boulder Grip. Minecraft audio belongs to Mojang/Microsoft. The source recordings are read from the local game asset cache by build_patch144_audio.py; the manifest identifies the transformed outputs. Fire and freeze recordings retain the previously confirmed redistribution permission; Kenney soil recordings are CC0.

1.4.5 replaces the stretched material edits with original-speed grindstone and rooted dirt tail excerpts. Fire and freezing use the authorized video excerpts at their original speed. Air Blast uses only the credited CC0 wind recording. No phase-vocoder or tempo effects are used in these replacement assets.
