# Sieges and Jails
## What is a siege?
A siege is a formal land war. You
wager Belly and power on a rival
team's land, wait out a prep phase,
then an automatic clash decides who
keeps it.
You need Xaero's World Map, and you
must be your team's owner or a
moderator.
---
## 1. Mark a target
Open the world map, hold right-click
and drag a rectangle over the land you
want, then choose "Mark Siege Target".
- It must cover 1 to 100 chunks of ONE
team that isn't yours or an ally.
- That team needs someone online.
---
## 2. Declare
Within 5 minutes of marking:
/siege declare <belly> <power>
Both numbers are PER CHUNK. Example:
/siege declare 1000 1 on 12 chunks
wagers 12,000 Belly and 12 power.
The Belly total is taken from you
right away.
---
## 3. Prep phase
A 60 minute countdown starts. Both
teams get reminders at 30, 15, 5 and 1
minutes. Play normally meanwhile.
/siege cancel
The attacker can cancel during prep
for a full refund.
/siege list
All sieges in prep or in battle.
---
## 4. Battle
When prep ends, everyone online on
both teams (plus allies) is pulled
into a private clash. Last side
standing wins.
- A team allied to BOTH sides sits it
out.
- A side with nobody online loses by
default.
- If the fight isn't decided in 45
minutes, the defenders win.
---
## 5. Results
Attacker wins:
- Takes every marked chunk the
defender still owns.
- Gets the Belly wager back.
Defender wins:
- Keeps the land.
- The Belly wager is split between
defenders online at the end.
- The power wager is drained from the
attackers and given to the defenders.
---
## Peace shield
After any siege, both teams get a 24
hour peace shield: they can't declare
or be targeted by a siege.
A team also can't be sieged if:
- its owner is a new player, or
- it holds the Uranus Ancient Weapon
(see the Turf chapter).
---
## Team jails
Capture enemies and make their crew
come rescue them.
/siege jail set
Stand in your own claim and make it
your team's jail (owner/moderator).
One per team. You can't move it while
someone is held there.
/siege jail clear
Remove your jail.
---
## Taking captives
Use handcuffs as usual: get an enemy
low with cuffs equipped and they are
cuffed. If your team has a jail, an
enemy you cuff is teleported there and
held.
A captive can't move, fight, use any
ability or use commands (no /spawn,
no /home). Logging out doesn't help:
they're put back when they return.
---
## Rescue
/siege jail status
Shows your jail, who's held there, and
where any of your teammates are being
held.
To free a teammate, siege the claim
they're held in and WIN. Everyone of
yours held there walks free.
Captives are released automatically
after 24 hours anyway.
