Low Shield - by RavenYT
=========================

What it does
------------
The shield you hold in first person now sits LOW on screen - a little above the
hotbar, instead of reaching up across the middle of your view. When you aim /
block with it the shield still rises up exactly like it does in vanilla, just
from that lower starting point. Works for both the right and the left hand.
Third person, GUI, item frames and shelves are all left exactly like vanilla.

Versions
--------
Minecraft 1.9 up to 26.3+ (Java Edition).

How to install
--------------
1. Do not unzip this file.
2. Copy the .zip into your resourcepacks folder:
   Windows: %appdata%\.minecraft\resourcepacks
(Or: Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder)
3. In game: Options > Resource Packs, select "Low Shield", then click Done.
4. On Minecraft 1.20.1 and older you may see a "made for a different version"
warning in the pack list - the pack still works, just click it to enable it.

Want it even lower / higher?
----------------------------
The shield is currently dropped 3 units, so it sits a little above the hotbar.
Open the model file for your version and change the MIDDLE number of
"translation" on the two firstperson lines:

  1.9 - 1.21.3 assets/minecraft/models/item/shield.json (and shield_blocking.json)
  1.21.4 - 1.21.8 overlay_1_21_4/assets/minecraft/models/item/...
  1.21.9 - 1.21.11 overlay_1_21_9/assets/minecraft/models/item/...
  26.1 - 26.3+ overlay_26_3/assets/minecraft/models/item/...

Right now the held shield is -1 (right hand) and -3 (left hand), and while
blocking 2 / 2 (-1.25 / 0.25 / 2 on 26.1+). Vanilla is 2 and 0 for the held
shield and 5 / 5 while blocking. To move the whole thing down or up, subtract or
add the same amount to every firstperson value in the file - that keeps the
normal "shield rises while blocking" behaviour intact.
