CoK Wings

Four Feathers, Four Fates

No one agrees on where the first pair came from - only that it wasn't crafted. A wingsmith can shape the leather and the frame, but the four true Elytra attachments were never built. They were answered - one soul at a time, one calling at a time, each pair settling onto the shoulders of whoever proved worthy of what it carried.

Four callings have been answered so far. The sky isn't finished choosing.

"Wear the feather, and the feather decides what kind of flight you were always meant for."

Wearing Them

Two dedicated slots appear on your inventory screen: one for the Elytra itself, one just above it for the attachment. Every bonus needs both in place, with the Elytra not fully broken - pull either one off and the attachment goes completely dormant until you put it back.

Soft Landings, For Everyone

Just having a working attachment + Elytra pair equipped grants a flat 80% fall damage reduction whenever you land after gliding - this applies to all four attachment types, Utility included, all the time, no charge required.

The Slam

Hold Sprint while gliding to start charging a slam - it builds for up to 5 seconds at full tilt, and letting go of Sprint mid-flight resets the charge back to zero. Land while charged and the slam fires automatically, and that landing takes zero fall damage outright, no matter how far you dropped. Every slam's strength scales smoothly with how long you held the charge - a half-charged slam is meaningfully weaker than a full one.

Have one: Guardian, Storm-Surge, and Divine Wings.

Don't have one: Utility Wings - purely passive, no slam, no combat trick, all about mobility.

Where To Find Them

Each calling can turn up as loot in structure chests, rolled independently per chest - a single generous find can hand over more than one.

Utility Wings is the rare one - it only shows up in the tougher finds, never an everyday dungeon or the Nether.
