The first Guardian never wanted to fly - they wanted to stand in front of something and not move. The wings answered with that instead of the flight nobody asked for: plate feathers heavy enough to shrug off a blow, and a promise that whatever lands beneath them, lands surrounded.
The tank of the set - more armor, a shoulder-check on anything you fly through, and a slam that turns your landing zone into a mob-devouring singularity.
+20% Armor, applied multiplicatively on top of everything else you're wearing, for as long as the attachment and an intact Elytra are both equipped - no flying required, it's active just from wearing the gear.
While gliding, flying within 2.5 blocks of a hostile mob rams it automatically: 6 damage (3 hearts) plus a solid shove away from you. Each individual mob can only be rammed once every 2 seconds, so you can't machine-gun the same target - but a whole crowd gets hit on the same pass.
Charge by holding Sprint while gliding (up to 5s), then land. Guardian Slam deals no direct damage of its own - it's entirely a control-and-survival tool:
| Effect | At Full Charge (5s) |
|---|---|
| Self: Absorption | +20 HP (10 hearts) |
| Self: Fire Resistance | 20 seconds |
| Self: Lightning immunity | 20 seconds |
| Gravity well radius | 10 blocks |
| Gravity well duration | 1s (min charge) to 5s (full charge) |
| Hostiles caught: Blindness | up to 5s, Level II past 60% charge |
| Hostiles caught: Slowness | up to 5s, Level II past 80% charge |
Every one of these scales linearly with how long you charged - a 2-second charge gets roughly 40% of every number above. The well only pulls hostile mobs (never allies or neutrals), and pull strength ramps up the farther a mob is from the center, so nothing at the very edge just sits there unaffected.
