Azeroth Public Library 1.8.4

Readable-book persistence
- Added explicit persistent completion metadata for fully captured readable books.
- Reopening a completed book after /reload, relog, or client restart no longer cycles through every page again.
- Completed books now open normally with no repeat save notification and no APL page-navigation interference.
- Manual /apl capture still forces a deliberate rescan when you want to refresh a previously completed book.
- Partial or legacy multi-page captures are not falsely marked complete; they receive one final verification scan when reopened, then persist as complete afterward.
- Completion metadata is validated against the stored numbered page data before a scan is skipped.

Azeroth Public Library 1.8.3

Readable-book navigation fix
- Full-book auto-capture now remembers the page the player was viewing before APL scans ahead.
- After capture completes, APL automatically returns Blizzard's readable-book frame to that original page instead of leaving the player on the final page.
- Page restoration is suppressed from the capture event handler so it cannot recursively restart capture.
- Once a book has been scanned during the current open session, using Blizzard's previous/next-page arrows no longer launches another full scan or repeats the saved-text chat notification.
- User-driven page changes may still silently refresh that page in the existing library entry, preserving repair behavior without UI interference or duplicate entries.
- Closing the readable-item frame clears the per-open-session state so reopening a book can be checked normally again.

Azeroth Public Library 1.8.2

Readable book capture
- Rebuilt multi-page book capture around numbered page storage instead of appending page text into one string.
- Opening a readable book now walks forward through its available pages asynchronously and saves each page into the same library entry.
- Existing partial captures repair themselves the next time that book is opened; no SavedVariables wipe is required.
- The displayed book text is rebuilt in page-number order, preventing duplicate or out-of-order page fragments.
- The page count now represents pages actually captured rather than the highest page number observed.
- Manual /apl capture now uses the same full-book capture path as automatic capture.
- Cleared obsolete page-length capture-cache bookkeeping during the one-time database migration so old cache keys cannot block legitimate recaptures.

Azeroth Public Library 1.8.1

Capture cleanup
- Removed quest-text capture and gossip-text capture from the addon.
- Removed their Settings options, gossip event registration, inert capture handlers, and obsolete quest-recovery state.
- Existing quest/gossip entries already stored in the library are preserved as normal library content.
- Added a focused database migration that removes only obsolete quest/gossip capture preferences while preserving entries, favorites, notes, item capture history, and interface settings.

Interface
- Simplified and resized the Settings panel around the remaining item-text capture, notification, minimap, and layout controls.

Azeroth Public Library 1.8.0

Core / SavedVariables
- Added a versioned SavedVariables schema and automatic database migration system.
- Added a separate layout revision so future interface redesigns can actually appear for existing users without deleting their library.
- Existing entries, favorites, notes, capture cache, and capture preferences are preserved during migrations.
- UI-only state (window size, searches, filters, selected entry) is refreshed when a new layout revision requires it.
- Added /apl resetui to reset only interface state without deleting collected lore.
- Added /apl dbinfo for quick schema/version troubleshooting.

Performance / Reliability
- The main library window is now created lazily the first time it is opened instead of at every login.
- Fixed entry-scroll content sizing so multi-line titles no longer cause the scroll range to be too short.
- Removed an unused helper with an invalid early local-function reference.
- Minimap and capture systems continue to initialize without requiring the full UI to be built.

Interface
- Added an in-addon Settings panel.
- Added controls for readable item, quest, and gossip auto-capture.
- Added notification and minimap-button toggles.
- Added a safe Reset Interface Layout button.
- Added visible addon/database version information for troubleshooting.
- Increased the refreshed default layout to 1240x720 for better reading-pane balance.

Upgrade behavior
- On first launch of 1.8.0, the addon performs a one-time UI migration. Your saved library content is kept.
- You should NOT delete your AzerothPublicLibraryDB SavedVariables file to receive the new layout.
