Hammers replace one-block mining with area mining - swing once, clear a whole chunk of rock, ore, or terrain at once. Every shape only counts as "correct tool" on blocks that are pickaxe-mineable, and every shape respects Fortune/Silk Touch on the whole batch the same as vanilla mining would.
| Shape | Blocks Broken | Orientation |
|---|---|---|
| 3x3 Plate | 9 | Flat, perpendicular to the face you hit |
| 3x3x3 Cube | 27 | Cube extending into the block behind your hit |
| 5x5 Plate | 25 | Flat, perpendicular to the face you hit |
| 5x5x5 Cube | 125 | Cube extending into the block behind your hit |
| 9x9x9 Cube (Netherite only) | 729 | Massive cube - TNT-fueled, not durability-fueled |
The "Plate" hammers always lay their grid flat against whichever face you clicked - hit the top of a block and the grid runs along the horizontal plane at that height; hit the side and it runs vertically instead. The "Cube" hammers just dig straight in from wherever you clicked, centered on that block.
Every 3x3/5x5 hammer comes in Copper, Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite - six tiers, shaped-crafted like any vanilla tool up through Diamond, then upgraded to Netherite at a smithing table with a Netherite Upgrade Template, exactly like vanilla.
Every single hammer tier carries 3x the normal durability of its vanilla material equivalent - baked directly into the tool's stats, not a bonus you have to unlock. It has to be that tough, since one swing can burn through 9, 27, 25, or 125 durability points in a heartbeat.
The big one. Rather than eating durability, the 9x9x9 hammer never takes damage at all - it runs entirely on stored TNT fuel instead, up to 64 TNT at a time.
Hold Crouch (Shift by default) while breaking a block with any hammer to skip the area effect entirely and mine just that one block - handy for touch-ups without chewing into whatever's next to it.
