The Storm-Surge pair didn't choose a protector or a wanderer - it chose someone who was already furious, and simply agreed with them. These wings don't calm a storm. They arrive already inside one, and leave the thunder to follow wherever they land.
The glass cannon of the set - everything you hit hits harder, flying through mobs slices them open, and your slam calls down an honest-to-goodness lightning storm.
All your outgoing damage - melee, ranged, anything - is boosted by a flat +40%, for as long as the attachment and an intact Elytra are both equipped. No conditions, no stacking cap to worry about, just permanently harder hits.
Flying within 2.5 blocks of a hostile mob while gliding slices it for 6 damage (3 hearts), no knockback - same 2-second per-mob cooldown as Guardian's ram, so a crowd all gets sliced on one pass but no single mob gets machine-gunned.
Charge by holding Sprint while gliding (up to 5s), then land to unleash it. Unlike Guardian's slam, Thunder Strike hits hard:
| Effect | At Full Charge (5s) |
|---|---|
| Direct blast damage | up to 20 (10 hearts), falls off with distance across a 10-block radius |
| Lightning bolts | up to 10, scattered within 6 blocks of impact |
| Targets hit: Weakness | 5 seconds, Level I |
| Self: Fire Resistance | 7 seconds |
| Self: own-lightning immunity | 1 second |
Every actual lightning bolt that lands also carries vanilla lightning's own strike damage if it connects with something living - on top of the direct blast damage above, so a well-placed full-charge slam in a crowd adds up fast. You're briefly immune to both your own bolts and their fire, so you won't get caught in your own storm.
