Cobblemon Ascendant — keep your FPS stable over long sessions
============================================================

The modpack already includes Sodium, Lithium, FerriteCore, ModernFix
(with dynamic resource loading), EntityCulling, ImmediatelyFast and More
Culling. To stop FPS from slowly dropping the longer you play, also set
your RAM + Java (GC) settings in your launcher — this is the part the
modpack can't set for you.

------------------------------------------------------------
 1) RAM (most important — more is NOT better)
------------------------------------------------------------
Set the instance to 6 GB. Do NOT go to 10–16 GB: with a huge heap the
garbage collector waits too long, then does one giant pause that tanks
FPS and feels like "I need to restart." 6 GB + the flags below keeps
memory tidy continuously.

   • Modrinth App / Prism: Edit Instance → Settings → Java/Memory
       Memory: 6144 MB
   • CurseForge: Settings → Game Specific → Minecraft → Allocated Memory: 6 GB

------------------------------------------------------------
 2) Java arguments (paste into the "JVM arguments" box)
------------------------------------------------------------
-Xmx6G -Xms6G -XX:+UseG1GC -XX:+ParallelRefProcEnabled -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=130 -XX:+UnlockExperimentalVMOptions -XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+AlwaysPreTouch -XX:G1NewSizePercent=28 -XX:G1HeapRegionSize=16M -XX:G1ReservePercent=20 -XX:G1MixedGCCountTarget=3 -XX:InitiatingHeapOccupancyPercent=10 -XX:G1MixedGCLiveThresholdPercent=90 -XX:G1RSetUpdatingPauseTimePercent=0 -XX:SurvivorRatio=32 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=1

(These are Aikar's G1GC flags. They make the GC reclaim old garbage
continuously instead of letting it pile up — which is exactly what
causes the gradual slowdown.)

------------------------------------------------------------
 3) In-game settings that help a lot
------------------------------------------------------------
   • Shaders OFF unless you really want them (Iris shaders multiply
memory/VRAM use and make long sessions much heavier).
   • Render distance 8–12 chunks; Entity render distance ~75–100%.
   • Sodium → Video Settings → Performance: leave "Use No Error Context"
and chunk multithreading at defaults; they're already tuned.

If you ever see Pokémon models render missing/black, tell an admin — we
can flip one config option (dynamic resources) off and rebuild the pack.
