STEP ONE
Edit Bosses.lua and change the name of the nearest capital at the top of the
file. The list of corresponding "monsters" is a few lines down, for reference.

STEP TWO (zero overhead)
Put something like this in your addon code:

  for i, v in ipairs(DBM.AddOns) do
    if v.modId == "DBM-NotScaryAtAll" then
      DBM:LoadMod(v,true)
      break
    end
  end
  local mod = DBM:GetModByName("NotScaryAtAll")
  if mod then
    mod:EnableMod()
    print("Now tracking ID",mod.creatureId)
  else print("Can do nothing; DBM testing mod wasn't loaded.") end

or STEP TWO (alternate method, some overhead)
Enable the Mod-LoadCID line in DBM-NotScaryAtAll.toc and restart the game
client. No code needs to be added to your own addon, however, anytime your
mouse happens to pass over any of the possible testing creatures, this will
be automatically loaded and become active, even if you're not actually doing
any testing or development.

STEP THREE
Engage the "monster" in combat. Give DBM a few seconds to register the start
of combat; if you one-shot the level 7 critter with your 90k fireball crit,
nothing useful will be done.

STEP FOUR
Hopefully you remembered to also register a "kill" callback with DBM....
