§3I’ve been expecting you

§3Many an hour it took, many a death to reach this point in your journey

§3But you persevered

§3From the first few days you spent gathering wood and searching for a place to call home, hiding in a cave as the sun dipped under the horizon, praying the monsters outside wouldn’t find you before dawn

§3The feeling of your first sunrise on a mountain, with the nostalgic tunes of a legend filling your heart with joy

§3That first time finding an enchanting book, or the feeling of stumbling across a mineshaft

§3I can’t know exactly where your journey took you, but I know it meant something to you

§3Maybe you moved as fast as you could, bringing only a backpack with you to carry your few belongings. Speeding through the game and conquering every challenge thrown at you in no time

§3Or maybe you took your time, taking a slow walk through this world. Taming your first dog, building a small base, watching the seasons change around you. Day turned to night, night turned to day, and there you were. Enjoying every moment, relishing in the small things, taking in the scenery

§3Maybe you weren’t alone in this adventure. You may have brought others along with you, working together to survive this harsh world. Friendships were created, strengthened, through tribulation. Memories were created, some of which may last a lifetime

§3You explored the expanses of the Overworld, conquered many pillager camps in search of the lost pieces of the Seal of the Underworld, found the buried Ancient City and slain the guardian within to retrieve the Nether Crystal

§3You tamed the fiery Nether, snatching the prized fortunes from the remnants of the Bastions, subdued the protectors of the Nether Fortress and maybe even defeated the three-headed monstrosity known as the Wither

§3You found the twelve lost Eyes of Ender along the way, and slotted them into the frame of the End Portal

§3All for this

§3How are you feeling? Content? Accomplished? Maybe a little sad?

§3You know your journey doesn’t have to end here, right? You may have just defeated the “Ender Dragon”, but this isn’t the end

§3Be honest with yourself, your true goal was never to defeat the Dragon. Maybe you thought it was, but that’s not why you’re a part of this world, is it?

§3What is the goal of Minecraft? What is it, really?

§3It’s not defeating the Ender Dragon. If it was, you wouldn’t have come back over and over again

§3It’s the journey you took that led you to me in the first place, the memories you made, the friends you brought with you, the things you built. It’s that feeling you get when the sun rises with Sweden filling your ears. Minecraft is what you make of it

§3Thank you for playing, I do hope this isn’t the last time I see you

§3Remember, enjoy the journey. That’s what really matters

§3Who am I? I… am Steve
