#WelcomeMessage#
Welcome to the official tutorial map for the ElectricalAge mod.
This map has been released under the version "v1.9 r41".
Have fun !
- The ElectricalAge team
#basicEntry#
Before all, some electrical basis are needed :
- Voltage [V] in volt, is the strength that makes current flow
- Current [A] in ampere, is the electrical flow
- Resistance [?] in ohm, is the difficulty for electricity to take a path
- Power [W] in watt, is an energy flow, may reach 2.21 giga watts !
- Energy [J] in joule, is a amount of work

Some formula are usefull like :
U = Voltage
I = Current
R = Resistance
P = Power
E = Energy

U = R*I
P = U*I = U^2/R = I^2*R      (^2 mean square)
E = P*time

For example if you want to calculate the power drop on a wire =>
Plost = Iline^2 * Rline

If you want know how many current take a consumer =>
Iconsumer = Pconsumer/Uline
#basicWires#
There are some wires in the mod. They all have some limits :
- Maximal voltage
- Maximal heating (the current through cables heat it => you can consider that there is a maximal current)

If one of these limit is overflowed that exploid !
So, the nominals voltage are 50V,200V,800V but praticaly you can reach 60V,240V,1000V without risk.
The same with maximal current through cable, specified current are 20A,10A,6.25A but you can reach 24A,12A,7.5A.
#basic--//#
There is 2 basic circuit.
Small blue box are creative destinated voltage source. You can specify voltage by right click on.
In the back of the room there are some lamp that consume energy to product light.

You can probe voltage/current/power/temperature with your AllMeter Item.
As you can see on the left circuit all the current flowing through the same cable.
That product 1.2V (50V-48.8V) of voltage drop and a power drop of 11W (465W-454W) from the voltage source to the red wool
On the right circuit the current is splited between both side. The result of that is a voltage/power drop.
=> 0.8V (50V-49.2V) of voltage drop and a power drop of 8W (468W-460W)

We can calculate by taking only the current as mesurement !
For the left circuit is easy, the current is 9.29A.
The resistance of power line is 12.5mohm (voltage source internal resistance) + 4.5*25mohm (4.5 lwo voltage cable resistance)
That do a 125mOhm resistance from power source to red wool. U = R*I = 0.125ohm * 9.29A = 1.16V !
1.16 V is very near from the 1.2V mesured (50V-48.8V)

For the second circuit it's a little bit more complicated.
The current delivred by the voltage source is 9.36A and it's splited in both branches.
The resistance of each branch is 12.5mohm (voltage source internal resistance) + 6.5*25mohm (6.5 lwo voltage cable resistance)
That do  175mOhm of resistance for each branch =>  the voltage drop is U = R*I = 0.175*(9.29/2) = 0.81V !
#singleBattery#
A basic circuit. The lamp is fed from the battery via the switch, and the battery is grounded on the other side.
The light connects to ground implicitly.
Battery has 2 side,
  Black is the negative pin
  Red is the positive pin
#//Battery#
You can put batteries in parallel in
order to source more current when needed
#----Battery#
You can put batteries in series to store more power
and to provide a greater supply voltage
#lowcostB#
A basic, low-cost battery
#highcapacityB#
Use more lead to produce a battery
with a higher energy storage capacity
#highvoltageB#
This battery directly provides 200 volts!
#highcurrentB#
This battery is designed to provide lots of current at once
#longlifeB#
This battery lasts longer before wearing out
#singleusageB#
It's a single usage battery, can't be recharged.
#noregulationTurbine#
A basic unregulated turbine generator.
Not safe at all, and can explode easily.
#heatFurnace#
Burn coal, or other fuel, to provide heat.
You can manually tune the ventilation to burn less or more
with the control gauge (GUI)
#turbine#
Produce electricity from a temperature delta.
  Left side must be warm
  Right side must be cold
Electricity is output from the front and back
#passiveDissipator#
Dissipate heat into the atmosphere
#internalregulationturbine#
You can install regulators in a furnace to control the temperature automatically
There are 2 type of regulator (Check the furnace GUIs)
  On/Off regulator, with a hysteresis
Analogue regulator, that tries to find the right burning ratio.
It's not the best regulation method because the furnace never stops.
#activeDissipator#
Blow wind on dissipator is a much more efficient way to dissipate heat !
however, the fan needs a power source
#simpleregulationloopturbine#
Furnaces can be controlled from an external signal.
When the signal is at 0% (0V), the furnace will shut off.
When the signal is at 100% (50V), the furnace will burn at maximum production.

Here, the signal is provided by a voltage probe configured for
a 100% (50V) signal when the voltage is below 190V, and a 0% (0V) signal
when the voltage is above 210V

This regulates the output voltage to between 190 and 210V
#regulationdisplayturbine#
The control signal for the regulation can be monitored in two ways.
With a Analogue VU meter that displays the signal voltage.
With a Data Logger, that shows historical signal voltages.

You can see the signal swing when you switch the light state.
#signalA#
Signal buttons can provide a 0% or 100% signal. Note that they are not momentary buttons!
#math3F#
The signal processor calculates it's output from each input and a supplied equation
Here, each input signal from the three buttons has a specific numeric weight (50%, 33%, 25%)
The calculated output is displayed the VU meter
#mathRamp#
A periodic ramp signal can be done with calling ramp(periodValue), where periodValue is in whole seconds
#mathSin#
This demonstrates the use of sin() and the pi constant to create a sine wave
#mathSquare#
You can also create square waves with some basic logic
#mathRS#
One very interesting function is rs(resetTrigger, setTrigger).
This emulates a set-reset latch. This function outputs a 0 or 1 depending on its internal state.
When setTrigger is higher than 0.5, the output is set to 1.
When resetTrigger is higher than 0.5, the output is set to 0. This can override setTrigger, if both are high.
This can be very useful to regulate a heat furnace, starting it when a battery is too low, and
stopping it when the battery is full.
#complexTurbine#
Here is a more complex system using a very efficient power regulator.
The Signal Processor controls the heat furnace according to two conditions
The processor starts when the battery is below 180V, and stops over 220V.
When running, it controls burn rate to produce electrical power between 450 and 550W from the turbine
This uses the battery as a primary current source, and uses the turbine to charge the battery at maximum efficiency
#transformer#
This block transforms voltage and current with a ratio specified by the cable counts in the GUI
#complexTurbineVoltageMonitor#
This display monitors the battery voltage
#furnace#
This is a furnace that uses electricity to produce heat.
It will cook the same materials as the base-game furnace
#WIP#
Work in progress
#lampShowRoom#
Electrical lamp show-room
#lumCaptor#
The output of this sensor rises and falls with the amount of light in the block
#lampSupply#
Because wiring every lamp in an area could be difficult, you can provide
power to lamps with the "Lamp Supply" block. Just provide power to the lamp
supply and put the lamp on the same "channel" as the supply box
#redstoneLamp#
The plate's redstone signal is translated into an electrical signal
This signal is used as trigger by a timer programmed to output a 100% signal for 4 seconds.
That controls the relay which switched power to the lamp.
#greenlab#
Green lab!
#solarPanelS#
Solar panels produce electricity from sun, taking into account the sun's position and if blocks are between it and the sun
#powerProbeS#
This probe measures the power production of the solar panels
#solarProbe#
This probe displays the sun's luminosity, a.k.a daylight
#solarpanneltracker#
This kind of solar panel tracks the sun to get more energy from it
#windturbine#
Wind turbines produce more electricity when the weather is Raining and/or Thundering!
In general however, the power production is very random
#waterturbine#
Water turbines product very little energy, except when the weather is Raining.
#weatherDisplay#
The weather sensor outputs a signal based on the weather. 0% is sunny
#Wirelesssignal#
Wireless signals can be transmitted and received.
A more complex example come at next room.
#wirelessAnalyser#
You can probe wireless channel in area by right click with the item in chest.
The range of wireless signal is 32 blocks, when the signal cross a block, the range is reduce by 1 block.
If you have a problem with range, you can use Wireless signal repeater block.
This block repeate all signal in a 32 blocks range. That give you the capability to extand wireless network.
#alaram#
Some standard blocks could be placed on small electrical element, like stone, or glass in this case.
Here, you can break the glass and push the button to sound an alarm.
#movmentDetect#
This is a movement detector, using an entity sensor and a similar circuit to the pressure-plate light.
#hub#
You can use hub blocks to cross electrical cables without connecting them.
That could be very useful in some situations. Note that you must select which sides are connected to which in the GUI.
#wirelessButton#
Of course you can use signal button connected to wireless transmiter
but all of that is integrated into the wireless button : D
To configure the channel of the wireless button, you must right click on with the wrench

Wireless is perturbed when lightning fall, you can try with /weather thunder
#wirelessAggregator#
You can configure multiple transmiter on the same channel.
Then, wireless receiver can be configured to "aggregate" all wireless signal that come.
There is actualy 3 kind of aggregator configuration :
Biggest => that get the biggest value emited
Smallest => that get the smallest value emited
Toogle => Every time that a transmiter do a pulse, the output toogle
#lightButtonRoom#
This room is a example of combination of wireless button, wireless receiver, relay, lamp supply, lamp socket.
It's how you can build a room to have multiple button to manage the light.
Each button toggle the state of the light.
#electricalitemchest#
This chest contains all electrical item of the mod.

Small Flashlight, that could be useful in mine. (right click to activate it)
Portable Electrical Mining Drill, to replace your pickaxe
Portable Electrical Axe, to cut down forests, and make coal from them !
Portable Battery/Condensator, If it's in you inventory, that recharge other portable items.
E-Coal suit, that uses electricity to protect you, but take time to recharge itself.
#batterycharger#
This block has the capability to charge your portable electrical items.
You can switch on it.
#xray#
Here is a secret, get the X-Ray Scanner to find it!
#pampa#
You can try the E-Coal suit on this
#telePresentation#
This is the transportation show room
#teleVoltage#
That shows the network voltage
#teleBat#
Batteries are there to maintain network voltage during transportation
Ideally that would be condensator, but they are WIP
#telePowerGen#
Power generator that fills batteries
(Power regulation + on/off (the rs function))
#telePowerGenCooling#
Power on active dissipator only when they are hot
#brushandwrench#
You can use brush to change the color of cables.
Cables with not the same color don't connect together.
This rule can be overridden if you change the configuration of
the cable with the wrench to allow cross color connection

The wrench (in some cases) has the possibilities to turn small electrical wall blocks
#treeresin#
To get rubber you must smelt tree resin
To get tree resin, you must put Tree Resin Collector on a pretty tree to get all his sap.
#batteryCharge#
There is different way to get the battery charge level.
You can right click on batteries and check this level into GUI.
But in some case you need to have this level on a signal cable.

The signal processor has a function called batteryCharge that translate a battery voltage into a battery charge ratio.
The input of this function must be normalised by the nominal voltage of batteries.
#batteryChargeOsc#
This system do a charge discharge cycle on the battery at a frequency of 0.5 hz
#batteryChargeWorst#
This is a bad setup, because the internal resistance of the battery put a offset on the voltage probe.
#batteryChargeGood#
This is a good setup. That calculate the real voltage on the battery by taking in account the voltage drop on
cables and and battery.

The equation is batteryCharge((B-(A-B)*5.1)*2) and as you can see, there are some constant.

The constant "5" can be tuned manualy. If it's to far from the good value, error appear on signal when
the battery deliver current.
Or you can calculate it ! The ground is 12.5 mOhm, the battery is 100 mOhm, the cable between B probe and the battery is 12.5 mOhm,
between A and B there is 25 mOhm  => 25/(12.5+100+12.5) = 5 !

The constant 2 is to normalise voltage because voltage probe range is 100V and the battery nominal voltage is 50 => 100/50 = 2
#replicator#
The "Replicator" is a very special creature.
He steal and eat electricity in cables. When he has eat enough, he duplicate into two new replicator.
If he don't find electricity, he become hungry, and become cannibal to survive, else he die.
He pop only when the weather is thunder.

This creature could seem only harmful. But when he die, that drop some interresting dust.
Maybe you can breeding some creature, by feeding them with you electricity, and finaly get your tribut !

Some egg are into the chest, don't forget to put the map into easy gamemode.
#wpStart#
You can transmit power on long range with power transmitter/receiver antenna.
The power transmitter antenna has some input/output,
- (P) Power input to feed it with energy
- (C) Signal input to specify how many it must send powe, 0% => 0w 100% => nominal power
- (S) Signal emited from power receiver antenna, can be used to regulate power
#wpRx#
The power receiver antenna has some input/output,
- (P) Power output feeded by the front power transmitter antenna
- (S) Signal input that is transmited to the (S) output of the front power transmitter antenna

The regulation of the power that must be transmited is done by the Voltage Probe =>
If the voltage is bellow 180V, the signal is at 100%
If the voltage is higher than 220, the signal is at 0%

As you can see there is some capacitor to store energy overflow due to regulation latency.
Batteries can do the same job.

WARNING : It's a power transmition, if you transmit more than the load network can consume, the
voltage rise to mutch and that explode

#autominer#
The Auto Miner mine a hole (1 block at the begin, 5 blocks after after some depth)
and collect ore on a bigger diameter (1 block at begin, 10 after 10 depth)

You must put a chest on the back of the autominer.

#energyCounter#
You can use energy counter blocks to do exactly what the name of the block say !
In addition you can configure this block in prepay mod, where you specify how many energy you allow to consume and when the counter
reach zero that cut off the line.
